Coach's CornerJan 23, 2009, 10:47 am All should try to be comfortable on the ball and not treat it as if it is on fire. All should all get used to looking up, playing and receiving "easy" passes before more hopeful and ambitious attempts are made. Ideally pass the ball to your first ring of players. This will have a large probability of success rather than passing to the 3rd ring where the odds are stacked against your team. Team play is about being comfortable on the ball and not giving the ball away. Jan 23, 2009, 10:33 am Ensure that you are standing in a position which is outside the reach of any intercepting player. In other words the pass should be made in a direction outside the reach arc of the opposing players stick. To create the gap required the passer can: 1) move with the ball to open up the required space 2) call the receiving player to the position 3) disguise the direction of the pass to confuse the intercepting player 4) roll the ball to the correct place to get your player to read the play better next time.
